PhD Student Opportunity in Climate Dynamics, UC Santa Barbara

A funded PhD research opportunity is available at the University of
California, Santa Barbara to study the mechanisms for forced trends in
tropical Pacific climate over the last millennium and in future
projections. Students will have the opportunity to work with new,
isotope-enabled climate model simulations with the Community Earth System
Model, as well as syntheses of observational and paleoclimate data. There
is significant potential for flexibility in defining the scope of the PhD
project, and students will also have the chance to interact with colleagues
at Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Hawaii at Manoa
in addition to other members of the group at UCSB.

Prospective students should have a strong background in a quantitative
science, and some past experience with programming.
