25. Topics of particular interest include the linkages between
conservation, water resources management, ecosystem services, and
sustainable development, but other ideas are welcome as well.

The SESYNC Postdoctoral Fellowship Program, supported by the National
Science Foundation and the University of Maryland, recognizes
highly-qualified postdoctoral fellows who will become leaders in
interdisciplinary research and actionable science and focus on ecological,
environmental and/or social topics. This program supports the scholarly
efforts and immersion training of PhDs who wish to pursue careers in
research and creative inquiry, and provides support for collaborative
mentoring. Successful candidates will use synthesis methods to address a
problem arising from, or associated with, the relationship between humans
and the environment. The Center provides salary support, benefits (health
insurance, paid leave), and travel expenses for conference activities and
mentor collaborations.
