[ES_JOBS_NET] Faculty Position in Geological Engineering

Universidad de O'Higgins, a new state university in the city of Rancagua
(80 km south of Santiago, Chile) has opened several academic positions. The
University was created in 2016, becoming the first public research
university in this region of Chile.

The Institute of  Engineering is currently looking for academics for the
Geological Engineering program. Priority will be given to applicants in the
areas of *physical hydrogeology, hydrology, engineering geology,
geotechnical engineering or geomechanics*. The candidates should hold a
Doctoral Degree (or being close to obtain it), show teaching experience,
and ability to do research at an international level.

Some relevan information:

   - The gross salary of a faculty member appointed as an Assistant
   Professor will be in the range $2300000-2750000 Chilean pesos per month
   according to areas, equivalent to US$3200-3900 dollars.
   - During the first year of appointment, each faculty member will have at
   their disposition a research-related activities mobility fund of $5000000
   Chilean pesos, equivalent to US$7000 dollars approximately.
   - It is not required to be a fluent Spanish speaker to be appointed as a
   faculty member or to start activities at Universidad de O'Higgins, however
   the University expects that by the end of one semester the appointed
   faculty member will show basic language proficiency to be able to teach in
   Spanish.
   - Undergraduate teaching at the School of Engineering or other schools
   at the university is required for the position. The School of Engineering
   currently offers six engineering programs, including a degree in Geological
   Engineering.
