Hi,
Kairos Aerospace is looking to fill the following position in our team of 19 people doing our best to mitigate the effects of climate change:
"The Senior Spectroscopic Data Scientist will advance the state of the art of Kairos’ primary data products. Initially, you will be responsible for applying traditional and not-at-all traditional approaches to our airborne spectroscopic methane retrievals in order to improve the information content of our data for our customers.
But we don’t want to stop there. You will work closely with the R&D and hardware teams to evaluate what hardware changes might translate into real data quality improvements. You will collaborate with data analysts to understand what environmental features cause noise in the processed data images and investigate ways to eliminate that interference. You will communicate with the team, both technical and non-technical, outlining the improvements and tradeoffs for data analytics options. You will be creative about applying advanced data analytics to our GIS, optical, and thermal data streams as well.
All of this effort on your part will contribute to a large enough volume of labelled data to investigate improvements in our measurements using an AI/ML approach to continuous improvement of our sensitivity.
(And of course - it's a startup - you will get to contribute to a bunch of interesting, adjacent projects as well.)"
