SUMMARY:
The School of Arts and Sciences and the Spatial Analysis Lab (SAL) at the University of Richmond will be hiring for a 3-year position as a GIS Operations Manager and Technician, ideally starting in May 2019. The position provides technical and administrative assistance for the broad range of GIS programs and activities undertaken in the SAL and across the University. Responsibilities include supporting innovative approaches to teaching and research tailored to the University's user faculty and student populations. Additional responsibilities include documenting, maintaining, and acquiring spatial data and projects, as well as maintaining lab equipment and associated software. Areas of potential growth and outreach include web-based project archiving, community-engaged GIS, and data analytics.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
* Master's degree, or above, in Geography, GIS, or a related field.
* Research or direct project experience with Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing, and Global Positioning Systems required.
* Willingness to upgrade knowledge and training capabilities in GIS
