Provide assistance with operation of the U-Pb geochronology facilities in the Department of Geosciences on the main University of Arizona campus. This is a one year assignment expected to begin around mid-August 2019.

Duties & Responsibilities

Oversee operation of the NU Plasma ICP Mass Spectrometer. This would include monitoring daily operation, conducting routine maintenance, and supervising repairs of the instrument.
Train and supervise researchers who use the NU Plasma ICPMS for U-Pb geochronology andf Lu-Hf isotope analyses.
Assist with operation and use of other lab equipment, including a Hitachi 3400N SEM and a Thermo Element2 ICPMS.
Additional tasks and duties may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of specialized research equipment used in the appropriate field of specialty.
Minimum Qualifications
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three years of related research experience; OR, Master's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND four years related research experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
