Overview


The Senior Geophysicist is responsible for developing a comprehensive
understanding of the subsurface, providing actionable and predictive work
product, primarily in the form of geophysical maps, models, and displays.
This individual will contribute as a member of an integrated geoscience and
engineering team make recommendations regarding leasing, well locations, and
well plans, and works closely with a multidisciplinary team to locate and
develop drilling opportunities and overseeing geophysical operations.


Responsibilities


 

*	Provide well thought out analysis and interpretation of 2D and 3D
seismic and other data to generate actionable work product in regional and
local areas, including various geophysical maps, models, and displays
*	Provide geophysical assessment and feedback, as part of an
integrated Development Team, to provide specific recommendations to improve
well selection, performance and program metrics
*	Work with and provide leadership in a multi-disciplinary team to
make recommendations regarding leasing, well locations, and well plans, to
include support for geo-steering to execute a drilling program
*	Identify, and assist less experience staff with recognizing
geoscience problems within regional area of expertise and identify
appropriate geoscience solutions by analyzing all relevant data
*	Lead continued integration of geologic and geophysical data / team
to further refine earth model
*	Plan and execute 3D acquisition program; lead in seismic processing,
acquisitions and data monetization opportunities
*	Work with technical staff to incorporate geophysical data with
geology, petro physical and engineering data; integration of attribute
analysis and mapping
*	Provide leadership and input to microseismic planning, analysis, and
contributes to observations regarding frac geometry, barriers and other key
development variables
*	Champion geophysical contracts


Qualifications


Education and Work Experience:

*	Bachelor of Science in Geophysics required.  Master's degree
preferred.
*	Education with emphasis on understanding seismic attribute mapping
in carbonate environments preferred
*	8+ years discipline specific experience in a Development or
Appraisal team environment

*	Play to well prospecting and integration with geo-steering team

*	Work history with Niobrara and/or Rockies is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

*	Very strong knowledge in geophysical and geoscience concepts
*	Demonstrates progression toward becoming a company expert within a
regional area of responsibility
*	Proficient working in a team environment and demonstrates individual
initiative
*	Ability to convey breadth of knowledge and recommendations concisely
both orally and written in informal and more formal settings
*	Advanced knowledge of processing and interpretation of seismic and
microseismic data
*	Demonstrates ability to integrate with Geology and other disciplines


Physical Demands


*	The company will provide reasonable accommodations to qualified

*	Utilize multi-limb coordination and flexibility combined with
control precision to perform fine motor skills including: finger
manipulation, grasping, feeling, arm-hand steadiness, in order to push, pull
or lift objects
*	Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push,
pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. 
*	Work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or
standing for brief periods of time.
*	Utilizes multi-limb coordination to balance on even surfaces, stoop,
kneel, stand, and walk, reach over shoulders or below the knees.
*	Must employ the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as
required by the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.


Work Environment


*	Environmentally controlled with no exposure to extreme changes in
the weather, and limited exposure to humidity/moisture relative to
atmospheric condition variations.
*	No exposure to dust, chemicals, gases, fumes, smoke, excessive
noise, and/or vibrations
*	Work generally performed in an office environment. 
*	Travel may be required for assignments, meetings, and training. 
*	Overtime, Weekend and/or Holiday hours may be required.
