Golder has a new opportunity for a Geochemist to join our team in a Full-Time position at our Denver, Colorado office.
The successful candidate will have experience related to geochemical characterization and water quality evaluation in any or all of the following, with a focus on mining: environmental impact assessments, feasibility studies, environmental permitting, mine water management, mine waste management and mine closure.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Provide senior level technical input and review for multi-disciplinary projects related to geochemistry, hydrogeology, hydrology, chemistry, and mine water
* Development and mentoring of other technical staff
* Contribute to the advancement of our geochemical practice through the technical communities
* Collaborate with other colleagues, regionally and globally
Required:
* An undergraduate degree in geochemistry, environmental engineering, geology, hydrogeochemistry, or related geosciences or engineering with a focus on mining
* Strong, all-round knowledge of geochemistry, surface water and groundwater interactions, hydrology, water treatment and chemical hydrogeology related to mining environments
* Professional designation as an engineer or geoscientist
* At least 15 years of applied experience, preferably in the environmental or mining sector
* The ability to lead and guide technical teams that may be located remotely
* Flexible, adaptive to change and demanding conditions.
* Experience with industry-standard geochemical, hydrogeological or hydrological software
Preferred:
* A post-graduate degree in geochemistry, environmental engineering, geology, hydrogeochemistry, or related geosciences or engineering with a focus on mining
