To direct and participate in organized research allied with the research goals at the Institute for Geophysics (UTIG).

Job Details:
Responsibilities
Laboratory analysis of methane hydrate-bearing pressure cores and experiments. Planning, preparing, and participating in pressure core expeditions. Record results from analysis of methane hydrate cores acquired. Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of other researchers. Prepare research proposals for funding. Present results at scientific conferences. Publish results in refereed journals.
Required Qualifications
PhD in Earth, Planetary, or Ocean Sciences. A demonstrated record of research productivity via publications, presentations, and grants.
Preferred Qualifications
2-3 years of postdoctoral experience. A demonstrated record of publications and external funding. Experience analyzing methane hydrate-bearing pressure cores, and participating in pressure core expeditions.
Salary Range
$70,000+/negotiable depending on qualifications.
Working Conditions
May work around standard office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Use of manual dexterity.
