Graduate Research Positions

We are seeking doctoral and masters research assistant to pursue their studies in Civil Engineering with a focus on stormwater green infrastructure, and perform research on related projects. The project combines elements of geotechnical and water resource engineering to investigate the sustainability of green infrastructure.  Research activities include lab and field work, as well as a computational modeling.

PhD candidates should have their MS in Civil Engineering or related field and ideally have some experience with a strong interest in water resources and geotechnical engineering. There are opportunities to gain experience teaching, and participate in research, professional development, and volunteer programs.

MS candidates should have their BS in Civil Engineering or related field with a strong interest in water resources and geotechnical engineering. There are opportunities to gain experience participating in other research, professional development, and volunteer programs.

There are multiple funded positions on two grant funded projects through the PA Department of Environmental Protection and the PA Department of Transportation.

These projects are part of the Center for Resilient Water Systems and Villanova Urban Stormwater Partnership (VUSP), part of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Villanova University, has the mission to advance the evolving field of sustainable stormwater management and to foster the development of public and private partnerships through research on innovative stormwater control measures (SCMs), directed studies, technology transfer and education.
