The Oregon State University Department of Crop and Soil Sciences invites
application for the Department Head position. This is a full-time (1.00
FTE), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is
at the discretion of the Dean.



This appointment includes indefinite tenure on a 9-month basis at 1.00 FTE
at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.



The Department Head is a recognized national and international leader in
crop science, soil science, agronomy, or an allied field and provides
visionary and facilitative leadership for all teaching, research,
Extension, and outreach programs in the department. The Department Head
interacts effectively with a large and wide-ranging group of faculty,
staff, students, and stakeholders in industry groups, public agencies, and
private organizations to advance the mission of the department, college,
and university. The Department Head provides administrative, managerial,
fiscal, and scientific leadership; maintains and promotes a collaborative
and productive environment for faculty, staff, and students; establishes
and maintains strong ties with stakeholders; advocates effectively for the
Department. The Department Head must demonstrate a commitment to diversity,
equity and inclusion. The Department Head reports to the Dean of the
College of Agricultural Sciences.



Design, develop, maintain and/or carry out programs to ensure that all
