Description

The Department of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences (EEES) at Clemson University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level commencing with the fall 2019 semester.

The candidate is expected to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The ability to teach geophysics and geostatistics is desirable. Development of new courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level will be encouraged. The candidate will be expected to advise MS and PhD students in the EEES Department, and to develop a high-quality, externally funded research program. Opportunities exist for collaboration within the uniquely interdisciplinary EEES department, as well as with colleagues in other departments at Clemson University. Qualifications

The candidate must have a PhD in Geosciences, Geological Engineering, or a closely related discipline. This individual will have outstanding potential and scholarly interests in cutting edge topics that will complement the existing strengths of the Hydrogeology and Geology programs within the EEES department.

Preference will be given to candidates whose research program integrates Earth systems analysis into opportune topics such as climate change, hydrogeophysics, and coupled groundwater, surface water, and/or atmospheric processes. A desirable candidate will combine field observations with quantitative analysis.
