Assistant Professor of Urban Sustainability
Drake University Environmental Science and Sustainability Department

The Environmental Science and Policy Program at Drake University seeks applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Urban Sustainability with a 3/3 teaching load. Candidates with backgrounds in Urban Planning, Urban Ecology, Urban Geography, or related environmental fields are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will have ArcGIS experience and a strong desire to engage with stakeholders in the city of Des Moines. Expectations

The successful candidate for this position will:

	• 1)  be proficient with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) at a level that will allow them to teach both an introductory-level and advanced-level course.
	• 2)  have a professional background that allows them to do research in and about sustainability in urban environments, preferably with a spatial component.
	• 3)  have a PhD (or ABD status) in a related field.
	• 4)  demonstrate an interest in engaging with the local community in their work.
	• 5)  bring a diverse perspective to our Department.
