Los Alamos National Laboratory: Scientist position in the modeling of ocean-land interface processes for climate applications
The Climate, Ocean and Sea-Ice Modeling Team (COSIM) at the Los Alamos National Laboratory is searching for a staff scientist to work on a range of issues related to the changing coastal ocean environment at the land-ocean nexus, including topics in sediment transport, coastal erosion, ecogeomorphology, and impacts of sea-level rise. We seek candidates with diverse research experience with a preference for individuals with one or more of the following: experience and knowledge of coastal-zone ecogeomorphology, remote sensing, and/or climate modeling; experience in construction, analysis and/or application of physical models; and the incorporation
of in-situ and remote observations for model development, testing and application. Our team’s effort is in support of the newly developed U.S. Department of Energy climate model, the Energy Exascale Earth System Model (E3SM).
