The *Civil Engineering Department *at Boise State University invites
applications for the position of Department Chair. The Department seeks
exceptional candidates with (1) a record of high-quality scholarship and
competitive research with federal, state, and/or industry funding; (2)
experience and leadership in professional organizations; (3) excellence in
undergraduate and graduate teaching; and (4) leadership/mentorship
experience and a commitment to inclusion and diversity.  Successful
candidates must be highly collaborative and demonstrate a clear vision for
expanding research and building strong relationships with local industry,
academic departments on campus, and across the national academic community.
In addition, they must be able to articulate a clear vision for the future
of the Department in Civil Engineering education for both the undergraduate
and graduate programs.

*Minimum Qualifications:*
Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Civil Engineering or related
discipline, and outstanding research and teaching records that warrant an
appointment at the rank of full professor with tenure. Exceptional
senior-level associate professor with tenure may also be considered.

*Preferred Qualifications:*
A current professional engineer’s license or the ability to acquire one, a
BS in Civil Engineering or substantial familiarity with the Civil
Engineering curriculum, experience in an academic supervisory
capacity/leadership position, experience with ABET accreditation, knowledge
of innovative curriculum development and implementation, and experience
with fiscal management responsibilities.
