Doctoral Student Opportunity, UC Santa Barbara: Reconstructing Last
Millennium Tropical Pacific Climate Trends

A funded PhD research opportunity is available at the University of
California, Santa Barbara to study the mechanisms for forced trends in the
tropical Pacific Walker circulation over the last millennium and in future
projections. The student will have the opportunity to work with new,
isotope-enabled climate model simulations with the Community Earth System
Model, as well as syntheses of observational and paleoclimate data.
Prospective students should have a strong background in a quantitative
science, as well as some past experience with programming.

Applications may be received either through the Bren School of
Environmental Science & Management:
https://www.bren.ucsb.edu/academics/phd.html

or the UCSB Interdepartmental Graduate Program in Marine Sciences:
https://www.igpms.ucsb.edu/grad

*The deadline is December 15 for both applications.*

Interested students are encouraged to contact Samantha Stevenson (
stevenson at bren.ucsb.edu) for more information about the project. See also
