Description
The University of Delaware is seeking applicants for a tenure track
appointment in Coastal Wetland Ecology at the level of Assistant Professor
in the School of Marine Science and Policy (SMSP) in Lewes, DE. A PhD in
biology, ecology, marine science or other related fields is required. SMSP
offers graduate programs in Marine Biosciences, Marine Policy, Oceanography,
and Physical Ocean Science & Engineering and an undergraduate major in
Marine Science. SMSP is situated on the main campus in Newark and the
coastal campus in Lewes, which together offer convenient access to a variety
of coastal and estuarine environments in the Mid-Atlantic region.
We seek a dynamic individual who will establish an internationally
recognized and extramurally funded research program while contributing to
the teaching, advising, and service missions of SMSP. The successful
candidate will specialize in a field such as wetland plant/organism ecology,
organism-sediment interactions, wetland spatial ecology, ecogeomorphology or
related areas, and have an interest in coastal wetland management,
governance and interfacing with regulatory agencies. We encourage applicants
who combine integrative field methods with modeling to address the effects
of human impacts, restoration and/or climate change on coastal wetland
ecosystems.
