Job Description and Duties
The Indoor Exposure Assessment Section, in the Health and Exposure Assessment Branch of the Research Division, is seeking a dedicated candidate to conduct a wide variety of work to help reduce Californians' exposures to indoor pollutants. The Section conducts and oversees research on all aspects of indoor air quality and exposure and is responsible for implementing the Board's regulation that limits ozone emissions from indoor air cleaning devices. The Section also recommends revisions to the California Green Building Standards Code; participates actively on green building and green product task forces; serves on scientific advisory panels; estimates Californians' indoor exposures to toxic air contaminants and criteria pollutants using various exposure models and satellite data; develops indoor air quality fact sheets and other outreach materials; and works closely with other divisions, agencies, and organizations to reduce indoor pollution. S/he also will assist with implementing and amending the indoor air cleaner regulation and work collaboratively with other scientific and governmental organizations to reduce indoor exposures to pollutants. Depending on the successful candidate's experience and interests, they may analyze data from a variety of studies, use exposure models to estimate Californians' indoor and personal exposures to pollutants, and draft and publish scientific articles and reports.
