Postdoc opportunity on chemical data assimilation and inverse modeling at University of Arizona

We have an opening for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Arizona. The successful candidate will contribute to the NASA-funded chemical and aerosol data assimilation projects of the Modeling and Analysis of the Atmospheric Composition (maac) research group. You are expected to perform spatiotemporal statistical analysis of multiple satellite data on CO, NO2, CO2, SO2, and aerosol optical depths, along with available aircraft and ground-based measurements of these species. You will also help conduct an ensemble of retrospective chemistry transport model (CTM) simulations using the Community Atmosphere Model with chemistry (CAM-Chem) and/or the Weather Research Forecasting model with chemistry (WRF-Chem) and perform ensemble-based global/regional chemical reanalysis using multiple satellite data as observational constraints and the Data Assimilation Research Testbed (DART) as the data assimilation software. Lastly, you are expected to help conduct ensemble-based inverse modeling of NO2, CO, SO2, and BC sources from major megacities of the world.
