My department at Tulane is hiring a non-tenure-track teaching professor. The load is 3 classes per semester. This prof will be expected to teach the introductory environmental earth science course (~120 students, has a lab that is taught by TAs). Otherwise the focus of the other classes somewhat depends on the expertise and interest of the professor. I’m happy to take questions. Ad is below.

Tulane University’s Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences seeks to fill a Professor of Practice teaching position to begin in July 2019, with the expectation that the first courses will be taught in Fall 2019. The position is a non-‐tenured, full-‐time academic year (nine month) teaching position with renewable 3-‐year appointments. The responsibilities of this position include teaching undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses, possibly graduate level courses, and service to the educational mission of the department and university. Opportunities exist for advising undergraduate research and development of service-‐learning courses. A doctoral degree in an environmental science or related field is required. Applicants should be able to teach introductory courses in environmental geosciences and advanced courses in their area of expertise.
