GFDL is glad to announce a federal civil service opening for an ocean
biogeochemical modeler to join our group in support of NOAA's living marine
resource stewardship mandate. The individual would:
- Lead efforts to improve the representation of coastal ecosystem
processes within global climate and earth system models.
- Improve scientific understanding of past, present, and future marine
ecosystems, biogeochemistry, and climate, and their interactions with human
activities.
- Investigate marine ecosystem predictability using earth system models.
- Provide informed guidance on a range of water quality, living marine
resources and climate change issues to Line Offices; Take part in science
focus groups; Represent ocean ecosystems and biogeochemistry predictability
and prediction communities; Attend conferences and present research; Peer
review scientific papers and proposals; and collaborate with faculty,
students and postdocs.
The DE and MP announcements for the Research Oceanographer, ZP-1360- 04
position have been posted. The announcements will be open for 14 days, from
5/04/2018 to 5/17/2018.
