“A position as Professor in Biogeochemistry of Forest Soils is vacant at
the Department of Soil and Environment
www.slu.se/en/departments/soil-environment/ , Swedish University of
Agricultural Sciences, Uppsala.
Research and teaching at the Department aim to increase understanding of
soil chemical, physical and biological properties and processes, knowledge
that is important for the sustainable use of soils as a natural resource.
The Department is responsible for the unique National Forest Soil
Inventory, as well as for the Swedish international reporting of emissions
and uptake of greenhouse gases as a result of land-use.
*Subject area:* The subject encompasses basic and applied biogeochemical
research on soil processes and properties in temperate and boreal forest
ecosystems. The focus is on interactions between chemical and biological
processes in forest soils.
*Duties:* The professor is expected to develop and lead a prominent
research group with the ability to attract external funding. This includes
taking advantage of opportunities for collaboration both within and outside
the department. The holder of the position is also expected to plan and
implement teaching and student supervision at various levels as well as
outreach activities.”
