The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Clarkson
University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in
Water Resources Engineering at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher
starting in July 2018. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue
a vigorous, nationally visible, externally funded research program and
maintain a strong commitment to teaching at all levels. A PhD in water
resources engineering or a closely related field is required of all
applicants.
The successful candidate will have an interest in collaborative research
that complements and augments existing expertise among the faculty in the
Civil and Environmental Engineering Department (http://www.clarkson.edu/cee)
and aligns with one or more of Clarkson’s interdisciplinary research
centers (http://internal.clarkson.edu/dor/centers.html), including the
Clarkson Institute for a Sustainable Environment (ISE), and the Center for
Advanced Materials Processing (CAMP). Hydromechanics research areas of
particular interest include river dynamics, coastal dynamics,
ecohydraulics, cold regions hydraulics, and computational fluid mechanics,
as well as other water resources areas.
The average annual external research funding for the Department of Civil
and Environmental Engineering in the last three years exceeded $5 million.
The Department offers bachelors, masters and PhD degrees.
