Department Chair, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences
The College of Natural and Health Sciences at the University of Northern Colorado invites applications for the position of Department Chair, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, position #F99312. This 10-month appointment requires a Ph.D. in Geology, Meteorology, Oceanography, or a closely related discipline. We seek a visionary Chair with documented leadership and management skills. The Chair works collaboratively with the department’s faculty and reports to the Dean of the College of Natural and Health Sciences. As the chief academic and administrative officer for the department, the chair provides leadership in the development and oversight of instructional programs, research, and service commitments in the department and assumes responsibility for administration, budgetary coordination, faculty/staff hiring and evaluations, professional development, community advancement, and facilitating the acquisition of external funds through grants and contracts. The chair also carries faculty responsibilities in teaching, research, and service.
