Job Description
PNNL is recruiting a post master's scientist to improve understanding of
high latitude climate in conjunction with the Department of Energy's
High-Latitude Application and Testing of Earth System Models (HiLAT)
project. The successful candidate will perform analysis of climate model
output and design modeling experiments using climate models to understand
teleconnections between mid and high latitudes. Working with PNNL
scientists, the candidate will develop new methodologies of diagnosing
climate system feedbacks at high latitudes.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have received a Master's degree within the past 24 months or
within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university. Minimum
overall GPA of 3.0 required.

Preferred Qualifications
The position is for six months and renewable contingent upon performance and
availability of funding. A master's degree in Atmospheric Science,
Geoscience, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or related subjects is
required. Familiarity with global climate models, including but not limited
to the Community Earth System Model (CESM) or DOE's Energy Exascale Earth
System Model (E3SM), will be considered favorably during the evaluation.
Previous experience at a Department of Energy national laboratory is
advantageous.
A master's degree in Atmospheric Science, Geoscience, Applied Mathematics,
Engineering, or related subjects is required.
