[ES_JOBS_NET] Funded PhD position at University of Alaska Fairbanks

[Jingqiu Mao]

A funded PhD position is available in the lab of Dr. Jingqiu Mao at
University of Alaska Fairbanks, to study secondary organic aerosol (SOA)
formation from the oxidation of biogenic volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
In collaboration with scientists at NOAA’s Geophysical Fluid Dynamics
Laboratory (GFDL) and several universities, we will develop a new set of
chemical mechanism for biogenic VOC oxidation and SOA formation, and then
use global models and field observations to study how biogenic SOA
formation is influenced by anthropogenic activities and its implication for
climate radiative forcing. Applicants with background in atmospheric
chemistry modeling (GEOS-Chem, AM3/4, MOZART, CMAQ, MCM etc.) are preferred.
