I am looking for enthusiastic graduate students interested in Coastal
Morphodynamics to join my group at Florida State University.

Our research aims to understand the processes that shape coastal landforms,
and how we can use them to infer future change or past climates. MS and PhD
projects may focus on (1) tidal and wave-driven dynamics of river deltas,
and how they might be affected by sea-level rise or human impacts, (2)
barrier islands and tidal inlets, in terms of storm impact or longer-term
change, likely focused on the future of Florida's coastlines, (3) smaller
scale sediment transport and bedforms, (4) river flooding in low-lying
areas and their imprint on floodplain deposits.

Please contact me (jnienhuis at fsu.edu) to discuss possible projects.

The graduate program application for research starting Fall 2018 is due Jan
15, 2018.
