*POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN THE FIELD OF CARBON DYNAMICS OF ARCTIC
ECOSYSTEMS *

A postdoctoral position is available jointly at Harvard and Columbia
Universities in the field of carbon dynamics of Arctic ecosystems. The
successful candidate will lead the inverse analysis of airborne data
collected over tundra and boreal forest ecosystems as part of the NASA
ABoVE Program. The candidate will develop and apply high resolution models
to explore ecosystems response to climate change. Participation in work on
a variety of related ongoing projects is encouraged.

Strong written and oral communication skills are essential. Experience
working with statistical, machine learning, or modeling approaches is
desired. A background in either atmospheric or ecological sciences is
helpful, but not required. Coding with scripting languages such as Python,
R or Matlab will be part of the project. A Ph.D. in atmospheric or
ecological science, engineering, or comparable discipline is necessary
before starting employment. Funding is available for a 2-3 year period, and
is contingent on satisfactory progress in years 1 and 2. The anticipated
start date is January 2018.
