A Boston based catastrophe modeling company seeks a Seismologist for the model development team with the following qualifications.

Qualifications:
An ideal candidate will have a PhD in geophysics, seismology or other related field with a strong background in the following areas: probability, probabilistic seismic hazard analysis, seismic source characterization, selection of ground motion prediction equations. 1-2 years of post-graduate experience is preferred.  Excellent communication, writing, presentation skills, and knowledge of computer programming and GIS is required.

Responsibilities:
The full time Seismologist is responsible for developing earthquake hazard models. This includes the following tasks: characterizing seismic sources, developing stochastic events sets, selecting ground motion prediction equations, compiling of ground motion maps and hazard curves, developing computer codes, conducting literature surveys, and providing documentation for technical publications.
