Position Summary (Details in Attachment):

The Associate Vice President will serve as a member of the Academic Affairs
Leadership Team, and will provide leadership for building and enhancing
collaborative partnerships with units across campus. Additionally, this
position will serve as the lead administrator to further develop the
California Water Institute and its advisory board. This position will work
closely with the Deans of the eight colleges on campus, and the leaders of
many Fresno State centers and institutes including the California
Agricultural Technology Institute, the Maddy Institute, and the Lyles
Center for Entrepreneurship. The AVP will also be integral in developing and

strengthening CSUwide programs (Water Resources and Policy Initiatives and
COAST), and the Fresno State Faculty Water cohort. This position will
assist in coordinating established academic, research, and outreach
activities that address critical agricultural, urban and environmental
water and sustainability issues in the Central Valley region of California.
The Associate Vice President will be responsible for securing financial
support for existing, as well as new programs. The Associate Vice President
will provide leadership for building and enhancing strategic partnerships
with stakeholders including federal, state and local agencies; various
groups within the water industry; as well as business leaders, community
groups, and other regional organizations dedicated to promoting
environmental sustainability. This position will work with elected
officials and

governmental agencies to develop relationships and enhance program support.



Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience to secure and manage financial resources for water
and sustainability programs;

Strong communication skills;

Demonstrated experience and/or strong familiarity with public relations,
marketing, and/or brand management of water and sustainability programs;

Earned advanced degree and/or qualifications for the rank of full professor
in one of the University’s disciplines;

Demonstrated leadership experience in building and enhancing strategic
partnerships with a wide range of national, state, and local stakeholders
including elected officials; government agencies; various groups within the
water industry; as well as business leaders, community groups, and other
regional organizations.
