VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (GEOLOGY), DEPARTMENT OF EARTH SCIENCES, UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS AT LITTLE ROCK
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Department of Earth Sciences invites applications for Visiting Assistant Professor of Geology (R97931). This is a nine-month, non-tenure track appointment to start on August 15, 2017. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
The UA Little Rock Department of Earth Sciences has over 50 undergraduate geology majors, offers a BS in Geology, and participates in the MS in Applied Science degree program. Facilities include new teaching microscopes, research microscopes, geochemical instrumentation, mineral separation equipment, and a dedicated geoinformatics teaching space. Additional campus assets include state of the art spectroscopy and microscopy instrumentation in the Center of Integrative Nanotechnology Sciences (http://ualr.edu/nanotechnology/ <http://ualr.edu/nanotechnology/>) and virtual reality, visualization and integrative technology software and equipment in the Emerging Analytics Center (http://ualr.edu/emerginganalytics/ <http://ualr.edu/emerginganalytics/>).
Required Education and/or Experience: A Ph.D. in Geology or a related field at the time of appointment, ABD candidates will be considered.
Preferred Education and/or Experience: Ability to teach Structural Geology, Engineering Geology and/or other areas of applied geology; Experience teaching at the college level.
