Virginia University invites applications for a Ph.D. graduate research=20=

assistant who will conduct research investigating surface water chemical=20=

characteristics and geology in mixed-land-use watersheds of the Appalachi=
an=20
region of the United States. West Virginia University is the state=92s=20=

flagship research-one institution, and is among the top universities in t=
he=20
nation, with demonstrated excellence in teaching and research.

Start date will be fall semester (August 16th) 2017. Primary duties inclu=
de=20
water flow and water chemistry monitoring with additional responsibilitie=
s=20
including field work, stream cross sections, instrument maintenance, data=
=20
collection, processing, analyses and modeling, coursework, dissertation,=20=

and multiple publications.

Applicants must possess bachelors and master=92s degrees completed in nat=
ural=20
resources, ecology, environmental sciences, physical hydrology, water=20
quality, or a closely related field. Experience in stream measurements,=20=

data processing, analysis and modeling, water quality monitoring and=20
analysis, GIS, and strong verbal, written, and computational skills are=20=

highly desired. Successful applicants will work collaboratively and=20
independently, conduct field work under variable weather conditions, and=20=

aid in installation and maintenance of instruments and monitoring sites.=20=

Applicants must possess a valid US driver's license and be able to lift a=

carry equipment and tools.=20
