Assistant Professor of Environmental Science

JOB SUMMARY & REQUIREMENTS:

Nichols College, a business-oriented, four-year College, seeks a qualified
candidate in Environmental Science to begin employment in the 2017 fall
semester. This is a non-tenure track, three-year renewable appointment with
potential to transfer to the tenure track in the third year.

Candidates should demonstrate a passion for and skill at undergraduate
teaching and mentoring.  Additional duties include advising, participation
in College governance, and active involvement in the Nichols community.

The teaching responsibility is a 4-4 course load, including introductory
and upper-level courses.  Interest in research/scholarship is expected and
supported.  Interdisciplinary collaboration in teaching and research is
also encouraged at Nichols College.

For this position, an earned doctorate is preferred, ABD considered.
 Teaching responsibilities include primary focus on introductory
environmental science lab coursee.  The specific environmental science lab
course can be flexible in design and title according to the candidate’s
expertise.

Physical requirements:  Frequent communications, verbal and written; Using
math/calculations

Frequent standing and/or sitting; Visually or otherwise identify, observe
and assess; Ability to use computer; Ability to communicate in writing and
orally; Ability to proofread documents and check for accuracy
