The Department of Earth and atmospheric sciences (Département des sciences de la Terre et de l'atmosphère, www.scta.uqam.ca) of the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM, www.uqam.ca) invites applications for a position of professor in economic geology.
Candidates having a PhD and with experience in research and teaching who are willing to develop an ambitious research program in economic geology are encouraged to apply. Applications to fields such as igneous and/or metamorphic petrology, geochemistry, structural geology, volcanology or geochronology will be prioritized.
The successful candidate will hold a teaching appointment in the Département des sciences de la Terre et de l'atmosphère of UQAM and will be encouraged to develop a research program with applications in mineral exploration and metallogeny.
Selection will be based on the applicant's potential for teaching and for developing a successful research program, as demonstrated by his/her publication and/or funding records.
A working knowledge of the French language is required. Applications from women, Aboriginals, visible and ethnic minorities and persons with disabilities are encouraged. Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority for hiring.
