I would like to ask you to spread the word about two amazing upcoming
Science Alliance opportunities at The New York Academy of Sciences that are
free of cost to the students/postdocs and that are a great resume builder.



1)      The deadline for our *leadership trainin*g has been extended to *April
10th, 2017*. The *Science Alliance Leadership Training (SALT*
<http://www.nyas.org/SALT2017>)*, *a 5-day training program for STEM PhD
students, will help participants cultivate their leadership skills in
conflict management, interpersonal relations, and assertive
communication—the skills they need to be successful throughout their
professional careers. In addition, this year SALT participants will have
access to 8 exclusive online sessions to continue refining their leadership

2)      We have opened the application portal for the popular *career
exploration day with PepsiCo* at the Academy*.*The deadline to submit an
application is *May 26th, 2017.* The *PepsiCo Journey through Science Day*
<http://www.nyas.org/landing/pepsico.aspx> will take place at the Academy's
headquarters in New York City on *September 18th, 2017*.  Fifty exceptional
early career scientists (MS, PhD, postdoc) will be selected for this unique
opportunity to:

·         interact with PepsiCo's R&D leadership,

·         get an exclusive glimpse of how science has shaped their careers
and gain an understanding of what it is like to work in a global team
environment, and

·         present a poster on their research to highlight and share their
own activities and interests with PepsiCo.
