The University of Delaware is seeking applicants for a tenure track
appointment in Marine Organic Geochemistry at the level of Assistant or
Associate Professor in the School of Marine Science and Policy (SMSP) in
Lewes, DE. A PhD in chemical oceanography, geochemistry or other related
field is required.
We seek an individual who uses molecular organic chemistry to understand
ocean and coastal processes. The successful candidate should have
expertise in analytical organic chemistry. We are interested in
applicants, who use geochemical biomarkers to understand the sources,
reactivity, and cycling of organic materials in coastal and oceanic
systems. Also of interest are candidates that can merge molecular
organic chemistry and isotope geochemistry with microbial processes and
biochemistry to allow for environmental insights to present and ancient
ocean processes.
The successful candidate will establish an internationally recognized
extramurally funded research program while contributing to the
undergraduate and graduate teaching, advising, and service missions of
SMSP. Review of applications will begin on December 1, 2016 and will
continue until the position is filled. Salary is competitive and
commensurate with qualifications and a start-up package is available.
