One (1) Ph.D. Graduate Assistant position, and one (1) Postdoctoral Researcher position are available beginning Fall 2016 or Spring 2017, in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences, SOEST, University of Hawaii at Mānoa.
The successful applicant will work with Drs Christina Karamperidou & Fei-Fei Jin on dynamics of the El Niño/Southern Oscillation phenomenon in current, past, and future climates.
PhD Position Requirements: Applicants must have B.S. and/or M.S. degrees in atmospheric science, environmental science, physics, or closely related fields. Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent academic performance records are required. The successful applicant must complete the UHM Office of Graduation application process and be accepted into the UHM Atmospheric Sciences Ph.D. program.
Postdoctoral Position Requirements: Applicants must have a PhD degree in atmospheric science, environmental science, physics, or closely related fields, strong oral and written communication skills, publication record, and must have demonstrated strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in running Global Climate Models, using advanced statistical methods for climate data analysis, and/or working with paleoclimate data.
