  _Open Positions in Applied Mathematics/Geophysical Fluid Dynamics_

We are currently hiring one postdoctoral researcher (100% time) and
three doctoral researchers (75% time) as part of the new research
network "Energy Transfers in Atmosphere and Ocean".  The positions are
funded for 3.5 years.

The postdoctoral research and one doctoral position will be associated
with the project

  "Toward consistent sub-grid momentum closures in ocean models"

and two further doctoral positions are available on

  "Systematic multi-scale analysis and modelling of geophysical flows"
  specifically to extend variational balance models to a broader range
  of physical regimes and geophysical flow equations

and

  "The interior energy pathway: internal wave emission by 
  quasi-balanced flows" specifically to refine mathematical concepts for
  gravity wave diagnostics
