Postdoctoral position - watershed modeling, climate and land use change=20=
Applications are being accepted for a postdoctoral position in watershed=20=
hydrologic modeling in the lab of Dr. Jason Knouft in the Center for=20
Sustainability and Department of Biology at Saint Louis University.=20=20=
This position focuses on developing watershed hydrologic models that=20
produce estimates of streamflow, nutrients, and water temperature in the=20=
Meramec watershed in Missouri based on climate and land use change=20
scenarios. These estimates will be used to assess the impacts of various=20=
management practices on water quantity and quality as well as=20
biodiversity throughout the watershed. The successful candidate will be=20=
expected to develop GIS-based Soil & Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) and=
=20
MIKE-SHE/MIKE-11 hydrologic models. The postdoc will also be encouraged=20=
to develop independent lines of research and will have the opportunity=20=
to collaborate with biologists, hydrologists, and remote sensing=20
specialists at Saint Louis University and the University of Illinois.=20
Additional information on the lab is available at=20
http://knouftlab.weebly.com/. A PhD in a related research field is=20
required by the starting date of employment and experience with either=20=
the SWAT or MIKE models is preferred, but not required. The position is=20=
available for two years contingent upon satisfactory annual reviews. The=20=
earliest start date is August 1, 2016; however, a later start date is=20
possible.
All applications must include a cover letter with a statement of=20
research experience and interests, curriculum vitae, and contact=20
information for three references. Please send these files to Dr. Jason=20=
Knouft at jknouft at slu.edu. Review of applications will begin immediately=20=
and continue until the position is filled. Saint Louis University is an=20=
Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer (AA/EOE), and encourages=20=
nominations of and applications from women and minorities.
