Dear all,
Please see the links below for two NERC-funded PhD studentships related to the response of terrestrial vegetation to environmental change at the University of Birmingham. Both projects are closely linked to the new Free Air CO2 Experiment (FACE) run by the Birmingham Institute of Forest Research.

http://www.centa.org.uk/themes/anthropogenic/b22/
Stem, leaf, root: The response of mature broadleaf trees to elevated carbon dioxide
http://www.centa.org.uk/themes/anthropogenic/b21/
Funding, including fees and stipend, is available to EU students, and will be allocated to the best candidates within the pool of all CENTA Doctoral Training Partnership applicants.
The application deadline is 25th January 2016.
Enquiries can be addressed, in the first instance, to Rob MacKenzie (a.r.mackenzie at bham.ac.uk).
Best regards,
Tom Pugh
