The *Stable Isotope Ecology and Hydrology Lab* in the Department of
Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences
<http://www.eaps.purdue.edu/> (EAPS) at Purdue University is s*eeking
motivated graduate students (MS or PhD) *beginning in Fall 2016*. *
**
Our group seeks to understand the effects of global change on
terrestrial ecosystems and their feedbacks on the climate. We use field
measurements, laboratory analysis and modeling to quantify the exchange
of water and CO_2 between the land biosphere and the atmosphere.Projects
may include applications of stable isotopes to questions of atmospheric
moisture sources and transport, plant physiology and source water use,
quantifying evaporation and transpiration fluxes and may include field,
lab and modeling activities.
This work is very interdisciplinary, and students with backgrounds in
many fields will be considered.Women and under-represented minority
students are especially encouraged to apply.
Students may enroll in one of two degree programs offered at
Purdue:either through the Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Science
(EAPS) department with strengths in land-surface interactions and
atmospheric sciences, or an interdisciplinary graduate program in
Ecological Sciences and Engineering (ESE).
