diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and invites
applications for a */tenure-track faculty position in environmental
chemistry/* focusing on areas such as _atmospheric chemistry_, _climate
change_, _air pollution_, _miniaturized instrumentation and sensors_,
_human health_, _ocean-atmosphere interactions_, and _interfacial
environmental processes_. This position will contribute to a major
cross-campus initiative in Understanding and Protecting the Planet that
is catalyzing interactions between faculty in physical sciences, social
sciences, engineering, health sciences, and Scripps Institution of
Oceanography to address large scale environmental challenges. These
efforts have already resulted in two cross-campus Centers

Candidates must have a Ph.D. with a strong record of research
accomplishment as well as submit an innovative interdisciplinary
research plan. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in
general and traditional areas of chemistry as well as environmental and
atmospheric chemistry courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Preferred candidates will have the potential for leadership in areas
contributing to diversity, equity, and inclusion and will have a desire
to play a future role in helping to shape and expand the University’s
diversity initiatives (http://diversity.ucsd.edu/). We especially
welcome candidates who have experience with and wish to contribute to
programs that increase the access and success of underrepresented
students and faculty in the sciences. The successful candidate will be
judged on research and teaching accomplishments, as well as on potential
and/or demonstrated leadership in areas contributing to diversity,
equity, and inclusion.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of
California pay scale.
