3.5 year NERC-funded PhD position at Lancaster University
Atmosphere-biosphere interactions: UV, ozone and the Earth system
Supervised by Paul Young and Nigel Paul (Lancaster), and Chris Huntingford (CEH Wallingford)
This project will use state-of-the-art climate models to look at how ultra-violet radiation impacts vegetation. Integrating the global impacts of UV is an understudied area, with excellent potential for high profile, novel experiments and insights. The project is ideal for science graduations looking to develop skills in climate science and big data analysis.
The successful applicant will be based at Lancaster with extended visits to CEH Wallingford, working with a supervision team with strong links to the WMO Ozone Assessment process.
