The Department of Natural Resources <http://dnr.wi.gov/> is dedicated to the preservation, protection, effective management and maintenance of Wisconsin's natural resources.  We are currently seeking a dedicated engineers interested in a managerial/superivisory role in our Air Management Division.  The current vacancy will be located in Eau Claire and supervise engineers in the Western part of the state.    **Please note, we MAY use this recruitment to fill additional Environmental Engineer Supervisor positions in the Air, Waste Remediation & Redevelopment Division, if they should occur.

Job Duties <>:   This position is responsible for the supervision and implementation of the Air Management Program within the Air, Waste and Remediation & Redevelopment (AWaRe) Division, for integrating activities within this program within the assigned geographic area and for integration among those programs and all other DNR programs within the assigned geographic area. This position is responsible for directing all aspects of the Air Management Program and is accountable for implementation of all aspects of this program. This position is responsible for developing, directing, coaching, mentoring and supervising permanent and LTE staff. This position serves on the Air Management Program Management Team and is expected to be an active contributor.
Special Notes <>:   Candidates MUST meet one of the standards listed below in order to be cosidered for these positions: 
A. Registration as a Professional Engineer as determined by the Department of Safety and Professional Services per s. 443.04, Wis. Stats.; 
B.  A specific record, issued by the professional engineering section of the Department of Safety and Professional Services, showing 4 years or more of experience in engineering work of a character satisfactory to the professional engineering section and satisfactory completion of the fundamentals of engineering exam (EIT); 
C. Have graduated from a recognized college or university with a degree in a related engineering field such as electrical, mechanical, civil or environmental engineering; 
D. Have equivalent professional training and practical experience so as to be deemed a Professional Engineer as defined by the Department of Safety and Professional Services per s. 443.01, Wis. Stats. and also deemed to be qualified to engage in professional engineering practice as determined by the Department of Safety and Professional Services per s. 443.04 or 443.05, Wis. Stats.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities <>:   In addition to the engineering credentials (as listed in the notes section) well qualified candidates will have the following knowledge, skills and/or abilities: Professional level experience in applied environmental protection programs such as waste, clean-up, air or water. Principles and practices of environmental sciences, chemistry, biology, geology, environmental engineering. Demonstrated leadership in managing an environmental program. Word processing software to produce finished documents, spreadsheet software to tabulate and/or analyze data, presentation software to convey information to groups, and email software necessary to communicate with others.
