The sedimentation and stable isotope geochemistry group at UTA is seeking a
highly motivated PhD student starting in August 2015. Successful applicant
is expected to have broad background and interest in field geology,
sedimentology and stratigraphy, and stable and clumped isotope geochemistry
to work on the stratigraphic and isotopic records of middle and late
Cenozoic paleotopography and paleoclimate along the strike of the Rocky
Mountains. Similar work can be found at

to be involved in the CIRTL network for teaching as part of the education
plan (http://www.uta.edu/gradstudies/admitted/on-trac/). Competitive
financial support will be from teaching assistantship and research
assistantship from a NSF grant. The Department of Earth and Environmental
Sciences at UTA is home to a dynamic and interdisciplinary PhD program, and
has several major research facilities, including a state-of-the-art light
stable isotope laboratory. Women and minority candidates are highly
