*SCHOOL OF ATMOSPHERIC SCIENCES**, **NANJING UNIVERSITY, CHINA*



The School of Atmospheric Sciences at Nanjing University (NJU), China, is
seeking outstanding applicants to fill 10 faculty positions at the ranks of
associate and full professors, engaging in the research of meteorology,
atmospheric physics, atmospheric chemistry, climate change, physical
oceanography, and Earth system science. The position requires a Ph.D.
degree in atmospheric sciences or a related discipline, and strong
potentials for research and teaching. For an appointment at full professor
level, the applicant must also show an excellent record of research and
professional accomplishments, for which professional experience as faculty
or equivalent research position at oversea institute is preferred.


The successful candidate will be expected to 1) establish and maintain an
externally funded, outstanding research team; and 2) commit to the school’s
undergraduate and gradulate-level teaching and mentorship duties. A
competitive startup package will be offered to the successful candidate,
including an annual salary of no less than RMB 300K for full professor /
240K for associate professor, near-campus housing, housing allowance,
medical insurance, and no less than RMB 1M startup research fund (See

*Atmospheric Sciences at Nanjing University*

The School of Atmospheric Sciences at NJU (*http://as.nju.edu.cn
<http://as.nju.edu.cn/>*) established the earliest meteorology program in
China, and has produced numerous scientific talents over the years. It is
recognized both nationally and internationally for excellence in the
education and research of atmospheric science, and is ranked among the top
3 of such programs nationally for many decades. The school consists of 52
faculty members, 21 research staff, over 400 undergraduate and over 200
graduate students. The school owns and operates an advanced weather
observatory, a station for observing regional processes of the Earth system
(monitoring land-surface processes, boundary layer physics, aerosols and
atmospheric composition), a mobile C-Band Doppler radar, a satellite
receiver, a high-performance computing center, and more than 20,000 m2 of
office space. The campus is located in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu
Province, with a population over 8 million. It is recognized as one of the
research and education centers in China.

The School of Atmospheric Sciences at NJU will be hosting a *booth at
