A Research Associate (“postdoctoral researcher”) position is available
in the Jimenez Research Group inCIRESand the Dept. of Chemistry and
Biochemistry at the University of Colorado Boulder. The successful
candidate will participate in the repeated deployment of a highly
customized Aerodyne HR-ToF-AMSaboard theNASADC-8 Aircraft^1

unique opportunity to study the global background of trace gases,
aerosols and black carbon throughout the troposphere and the seasons and
assess its sources and chemistry. The successful candidate will be
involved at all levels with the scientific analysis of this
largeAMSdataset and is expected to lead several aspects of this
analysis. He/she would also have the opportunity to be involved in other
aircraft projects (KORUS-AQ, CAMPEx), pending funding. The position will
require a minimum of 8 weeks in the field during Summer 2016.
Minimum Qualifications
Requirements
A Ph.D. in chemistry, atmospheric sciences, environmental engineering,
or a related discipline is required. Excellent skills in the operation
and maintenance of advanced instrumentation, ideally acquired by
involvement in instrument design and construction are essential.
Experience with mass spectrometry, vacuum technology, aerosol
instrumentation, as well as computer programming and/or complex data
analysis (especially Igor Pro) are highly desirable. Experience with
laboratory or field studies of atmospheric chemistry is also desirable.

The initial appointment will be for one year starting October 2015, with
the expectation of annual renewal for two additional years upon
satisfactory performance.
The position will be filled as a Research Associate at the University of
Colorado Boulder and will be eligible for employee benefits, including
22 days of vacation (for a 100% position) per year.
