The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis invites applications for a 9-month (academic year) lectureship in environmental earth science to begin in Fall 2014. This is a non-tenure track academic position. The selected applicant will teach two courses per semester. These will ideally include three courses for undergraduate majors in the areas of hydrogeology, geomorphology/surface processes, and soil science plus a fourth course to be selected in consultation with the faculty. In addition, the lecturer will assist with the design and implementation of departmental field trips in Spring 2015. Research collaborations with faculty and staff are encouraged, as the applicant's time and interests allow. Candidates must have been awarded a Ph.D. in Earth Science, Geology, Environmental Science, or a closely related field at the time of appointment. Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level is preferred.
