Applications are invited for a highly motivated student at the PhD or MS le=
vel to analyze riverine sediment transport and geomorphological change in c=
oastal Louisiana. The study is part of an interdisciplinary research, suppo=
rted by the NSF coupled natural-human systems (CNH) program that aims to de=
velop models to assess the resilience and sustainability of a CNH coastal s=
ystem. Therefore, the student will work closely with a group of faculty and=
 graduate students from natural and social sciences. The position is availa=
ble to start immediately.=20

Qualifications: A strong work ethic, strong quantitative skills, good commu=
nication skills, and the ability to work both as part of a team and indepen=
dently are critical, in addition to being prepared for work under variable =
field conditions and possessing a valid U.S. driver's license. Applicants w=
ith an MS in hydrology, water resources, or a similar discipline (e.g. soil=
 physics, geology, geography, environmental sciences) are preferred. Applic=
ants with research experience in any of the following areas: surface hydrol=
ogy, sediment transport, geomorphology, and GIS/landscape modeling will be =
highly competitive. =20
