We are looking for a postdoc to help design and develop the next generation integrated meteorology and chemistry modeling system with characteristics such as: (1) complete global coverage--eliminating the need for LBC's; (2) seamless grid refinement--no grid nesting; (3) integrated chemistry, dynamics, and physics--mass and numerical consistency; and (4) two-way chemistry and meteorology interactions--direct and indirect aerosol feedback effects.  Examples of such models for meteorology (no chemistry) include the Model for Predictions Across Scales (MPAS) and the Ocean-Land-Atmosphere Model (OLAM)


The candidate should have  excellent computer skills for large modeling (Fortran, MPI, etc) and with background in meteorology and/or air quality model development.

This will be a community model development effort.  We will be proposing to collaborate with other groups such as NCAR, NOAA, PNNL, Universities and anyone else with a similar vision.
